SAMMAMISH, Wash. - The University of California women's golf team is trying to continue its dominance of the 2008 fall season as the Golden Bears are tied for fourth place at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational after finishing the first round with a +22 (310) following 18 holes Monday. Cal, playing at the 6,127-yard, par-72 Sahalee Golf and Country Club, are being paced by senior Allison Goodman, who is tied for fifth with four other players with a two-over 74. As a team, Cal is trailing Oregon (+11 299), Stanford (+15 303) and Oregon State (+18 306). The Bears captured wins in their first two fall tournaments, the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic in Fort Collins, Colo., back on Sept. 8-9, and the Badger Invitational in Verona, Wisc., on Sept. 27-28. The other top Cal competitor is senior Shannon Yocum, who is tied for 12th with a four-over 76. Freshmen Diane Kwon (+6 78) and Angela Villela (+10 82) are tied for 20th and 44th, respectively. Sophomore Andrea Waters finished the day tied for 57th (+13 85).
