BERKELEY - The California Golden Bears earned two NorPac West Player of the Week Awards for the final week of the regular season. Sophomore goalie Courtney Hendrickson won the defensive player of the week award, while freshman midfielder Clara Goni won the rookie of the week award.

The Bears went 1-1 last week, losing to Stanford 2-0 but beating UC Davis 6-0. Goni missed the Stanford game with a sore knee, but came back against Davis to make her presence felt. Goni and the Golden Bear defense did not allow a goal, and Goni was instrumental in both stopping Aggie attacks and starting Golden Bear offensive plays.

Hendrickson played in almost 121 minutes on the week and only allowed two goals for a GAA of 1.16. She earned five saves for a weekly save percentage of .714 and earned the victory in the shutout of UC Davis.

The awards are the first of the season for both players.
