BERKELEY -
Senior forward Megan Shimojima started and ended Cal's comeback in Sunday's game at UC Davis, scoring the first of two last-minute goals needed to send the game into overtime and also scoring the game winner, on a pass from Shannon Elmitt, in overtime. She was awarded NorPac West Player of the Week honors for her efforts. This is the second NorPac West Offensive Player of the Week honor for Shimojima. She also earned the award earlier this season when she scored four goals in Cal's NorPac opener at Pacific. The Bears have dominated the NorPac weekly honors this season. Sophomore forward Andrea Earle has been named the Offensive Player of the Week three times, Shimojima twice, and sophomore forward Jordan O'Reilly once. Freshman Lara Kruggel has twice won the Newcomer of the Week award. The Bears are idle this week, but return to action next week when they head to the NorPac Tournament, Nov. 3-5 at Stanford.
