Freshman Lara Kruggel has already earned two NorPac honors, garnering Newcomer of the Week for the NorPac West twice this season. In her first 15 games as a Golden Bear, Lara has scored seven goals and had seven assists. Lara grew up in Berlin, Germany, where she played three times for the German national championship. Her teams also advanced twice to the European Championships where her club advanced to the championship match both times (2006, 2008). She was twice was named the best player at the European Championships.
