Sept. 17, 2012

BERKELEY - During the off-season the Golden Bears added six new faces to the field hockey squad. CalBears.com asked each a few questions to get to know each player a little bit better. Each Q and A will be published over the next two weeks. First up is Kristen Lee, 5-11 defender from Los Angeles, Calif.

CalBears.com: Do you have any nicknames?

Kristen Lee: In high school people would sometimes call me "Kri" or "KriLee". I also get "Little Lee" a lot because of my older sister Stacy, who is still a part of the team.

CalBears.com: What has surprised you most about college?

KL: How everyone is very nice and welcoming.

CalBears.com: Where is your favorite spot on campus?

KL: The Big C has such a nice view!

CalBears.com: What made you come to Cal?

KL: I'm such a California girl, but even beyond that, the team has always felt like family and I couldn't imagine being with any other group of girls.

CalBears.com: When are you happiest?

KL: When I can curl up in bed with a bowl of popcorn and watch a movie.

CalBears.com: What is on your iPod right now?

KL: Childish Gambino is always on.

CalBears.com: What is your favorite holiday? Why?

KL:Christmas because during all of December people are in such a festive mood. Also, because I love waking up to a white Christmas in Colorado and having the whole day to be cozy on the couch and spend time with my family.

CalBears.com: Who is the funniest player on the team?

KL: Everyone is really funny in their own way. But Andrea Earle never fails to make me laugh.

CalBears.com: If you were a superhero, what would your name be and what powers would you have?

KL: I love the nickname KriLee so I could use that as my superhero name. I'd want to fly or be able to read people's minds.
