Bears on Track with 2-0 Defeat of Pacific
STOCKTON, Calif. - The California women's field hockey team is back on track with a win over NorPac conference foe Pacific, 2-0. With the victory, the Golden Bears improve to 4-5 overall, 1-1 in conference play.
Cal picked up its offensive play, recording 21 shots on goal to the Tigers 6. After remaining scoreless through the first half, sophomore Sara Baron broke the tie when she nailed a goal off of a penalty corner. Sophomore Megan Sainsbury and senior Grace Kim earned the assists. Twelve minutes later, Sainsbury hit for a goal off a pass from Baron.
Senior goalkeeper Karen Hagan recorded her third shutout of the season.
The Bears return to action Thursday, Oct. 16, when they travel to Williamsburg, Va. to take on William and Mary. Cal will also face James Madison Friday, Oct. 17, and Old Dominion Sunday, Oct. 19 Norfolk, Va.
