STOCKTON, Calif. - The University of California field hockey team (5-8, 1-3) lost another one goal decision to the University of the Pacific Tigers (5-10, 1-3) on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2-1. Sophomore midfielder Lara Kruggel scored her 6th goal of the weekend in the defeat.

After a 5-0 shutout on Friday against the same Tiger team, the Golden Bears could not get their offense going on Pacific's senior day. Cal and Pacific played 27 scoreless minutes before Pacific was able to score off a rebound. They took the 1-0 lead into the half.

In the second half, Pacific scored their second goal in the 57th minute to extend their lead. Cal pulled sophomore goalie Courtney Hendrickson near the end of the half and Kruggel was able to cut the Tiger lead in half on a long shot from the top of the arc in the 69th minute, but Cal could not put the equalizer in. It was Kruggel's league leading 15th goal of the season.

Cal will play again on Friday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. when they take on Duke in Durham, N.C.
