BERKELEY - Behind another victory by the varsity eight, the top-ranked California women's rowing team stayed red hot, capturing its fifth straight Pac-12 Championship on Sunday. In the varsity eight race, Cal edged No. 3 USC, 6:30.3-6:32.7. No. 8 Washington finished third. Despite the close finish, the Bears led the race from start to finish. Dating back to the beginning of April, the Cal varsity eight boat has won its last six consecutive races. 2011-12 California Muscle Milk Student-Athletes of the Week
