Women's Crew Edges Oregon State

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif- In its first dual race competition of the season, the Cal women's varsity eight edged a hard-charging Oregon State varsity to complete a sweep of the eights racing at Redwood Shores Lagoon, Saturday, April 11. In addition the win by the varsity, the Cal JV and novice eights picked up wins over their Beaver counterparts of one and two boat lengths, respectively.

"Every time our crews go out a put a good race together it helps prepare them for the next challenge that lies ahead," said coach Marisa Hurtado. "My crews are very young and these are the kind of confidence building races that are important to win in the early stages of the season."
