Fourth-Year Cal Coach Gets Promoted

2011: Returns to the Golden Bears as a volunteer assistant coach after a very successful collegiate career at Cal (2008-11).

International: 2010: Won the gold with Kara Kohler in the eight at the 2010 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Brest, Belarus. 2009: Won a silver medal with the women's 8+ at the 2009 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Racice, Czech Republic last summer...also raced in the women's pair and finished in fifth.

California: 2011 (Senior): First-team CRCA All-American ... First-team CRCA All-West Region ... All-Pac-10 selection ... rowed on Cal's varsity 8+ boat that placed fourth at the NCAA Championships, won at the Pac-10 Championships and in the dual meets against Stanford and Washington. 2010 (Junior): Rowed on the varsity 8+ that came in fourth at the NCAA Championships...took first in the varsity 8+ at the Pac-10 Championships, clinching the team title for Cal...named a CRCA first-team All-American and All-Region...first-team All-Pac-10. 2009 (Sophomore) A member of Cal's varsity 8+ that came in second at the Pac-10 Championships and third at the NCAA Championships. 2008 (Freshman) Rowed on the varsity 8+ that took fourth place at the NCAA Championships and won the Pac-10 championship...named the Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year. Personal: Geography major...rowed for two years with San Diego Rowing Club... also played soccer in high school... parents are Sandy Jeghers and Kathleen Guiney...has two older brothers, John and Jimmy...born Oct. 28, 1988, in San Diego, Calif.
