Personal: Stroked the four for the River City Rowing Club that competed in the Junior national championships ... participated in track and field for one year while at Davis Senior High School ... a member of the National Honors Society while in high school ... worked on an organic farm last summer and trained for the Santa Cruz International Triathlon ... parents are Webb and Cheryl Hester ... has a brother ... undeclared major ... postgraduate plans include going to medical school and traveling through Europe.

The best part about being on Cal crew is: The team. Everybody is really supportive and driven to try their hardest. In the positive environment I feel like I can push myself and have fun.
