This weekend we defeated Miami of Ohio in the first round of the Oakland Tribune Classic. We continued our excellent team play both offensively and defensively. Our defense is scoring points for us with steals and fast breaks. We had four players score in double figures while I had my first career double-double as a Bear. I also received player of the game. The fan support was great and seems to be getting better with every game.

The second round and championship game was against Tulane. This in the long run showed our teams ability to handle pressure in a close game situation. Valuing the ball and utilizing our strength in the post helped us win the game in the clutch and the tournament championship for the first time in five years. Nihan Anaz was tournament MVP, while Leigh Gregory received all-tourney honors. In the end, everyone on the team from the starters to the bench proved that working together as a team can achieve what they want.

For the next week and a half, we as a team will train hard in the weight room as well as on the court. Our next home game is against Nevada on Friday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m.. Until next time, GO BEARS!
