Ten Cal Players Compete in San Francisco Bay Area ProCity League

June 15, 2006

BERKELEY, Calif. - California women's basketball is well represented in the 2006 San Francisco Bay Area ProCity Summer League. Ten current players and one former Golden Bear are spread out over four of the league's seven teams.

The Bay City squad showcases Cal sophomores Devanei Hampton, an All-Pac-10 selection, and Alexis Gray-Lawson, the 2005-06 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year, and freshman Lauren Greif.

The San Francisco team features sophomores Ashley Walker and Shantrell Sneed and freshmen Natasha Vital and Adji Ramatoulaye N'diaye. Former Cal player Jacqueline Sanchez also is listed on the roster.

Bears sophomore Jené Morris will suit up for the Golden State team, and senior Keanna Levy and sophomore Kelly O'Connell will play for Bay Tide.

The season begins June 17 and ends Aug. 12 with the championship game. All contests are played at Kezar Stadium (corner of Stanyan and Waller Streets in San Francisco). Admission is free to everyone.

In 2005, Hampton, Gray-Lawson, Walker, Morris and Reneé Wright (a Cal senior in 2005-06) propelled the East Bay team to the San Francisco ProCity Summer League title.
