TEAM NOTES California keeps remains atop the Pac-12 lead at 7-1 in the conference. California now leads the all-time series 9-4 and has won the last seven meetings between the two schools. Utah has not defeated Cal since joining the Pac-12 last season. California has now led at the half in 16 of 19 games this season with its 32-28 lead over Utah, and the Bears are 15-1 in those games - the lone loss coming to Stanford five days ago at Haas. The Bears did not lead against Duke (trailed, lost) or Colorado (1st Meeting - tied, won; 2nd Meeting - trailed, won). California started a new lineup for the first time this season after Gennifer Brandon was forced to miss the game due to an ankle injury. The Bears went with the starting five of Boyd, Caldwell, Clarendon, Gray and Jemerigbe. Over a six-minute span in the 2nd half from 13:34 to 7:57, California forced (8) Utah turnovers on (10) Utah possessions to push the lead from a tie game at 41-41 to a 13-point lead at 58-45. Cal had 14 team assists, just the second time the team has had 10+ assists in conference play this season. The Bears matched their season-low of 35 rebounds but still managed to post a +15 rebounding margin over the Utes (35-20). California had its best shooting night of the conference season, going 29-of-64 (.453).
