TEAM NOTES California now trails the all-time series 36-24 with Thursday night's win. The victory was Cal's first over the Trojans since an 82-71 victory on Jan. 20, 2011 in Berkeley. California has now led at the half in 14 of 16 games this season with its 36-31 lead over USC, and the Bears are 13-1 in those games - the lone loss coming to Stanford five days ago at Haas. The Bears did not lead against Duke (trailed, lost) or Colorado (tied, won). The Bears move to 5-1 in televised games this season (Old Dominion, Utah, Colorado, Stanford, Stanford, USC) and 3-1 on the Pac-12 Networks. Three Bears scored 62 of Cal's 71 points - an anomaly from California's normal balanced production in Lindsay Gottlieb's tenure. California committed just six turnovers - a season-low - for the second consecutive game, even more impressive given that Thursday's game went to overtime. INDIVIDUAL PLAYER NOTES Scored a season-high 23 points, one shy of her career-high set in her 24-point, 24-rebound game against Ohio State last season. Matched her career-high of three steals in the contest. Registered her second consecutive double-double with 23 points and 26 rebounds. It was Brandon's 23rd career double-double. Her 26 rebounds marked the first time a Bear pulled down at least 20 in a game since Brandon's 24-rebound effort against Ohio State on Dec. 17, 2011.
Layshia Clarendon Scored 27 points, one shy of her season high and two shy of her career high. Clarendon led all scorers in the game.
