Maryam Sharifzadeh Position: Student-Athlete Affairs Assistant

Maryam Sharifzadeh joined the University of California athletic staff in February, 2010 as an intern in Student Services. Shortly after she became assistant to the Director of Student-Athlete Affairs-- bringing volunteer opportunities and professional development to the student-athletes on a variety of subjects, including leadership, networking, professional relationships, image and personal and social development.

Before joining the athletic staff, Maryam held positions in Media and Communications with the National Basketball League in Sydney, Australia, Marketing and Game Day Operations with Stanford Athletics and Sports Information at UC San Diego.

While working as the assistant to the Director of Student-Athlete Affairs, Maryam is continuing her education at the University of San Francisco, obtaining her Masters in Sport Management. She also works part time as a swim instructor, group exercise trainer and wellness coach.
Maryam is also a graduate of the University of California, San Diego and spent her time as a student-athlete playing water polo and coaching swim team to local kids in the community.
