BEIJING, China - Jigar Mehta, a University of California alumnus, is in Beijing capturing a behind-the-scenes look at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In today's video feature, he catches up with three Cal swimmers.

Interview with Jernec Godec, Damir Dugonjic and Hannah Wilson
I have to keep reminding myself that the Olympics are not all about medals. These athletes are the best in the world, and what separates the winner from the rest of the field is often a few tenths of a second, especially in the pool. Before I left for Beijing, I clocked myself in the pool swimming the 50-meter free. My time was about double the world record of 21.28, while Jernec Godec was only one second off the mark earning him an 18th-place finish.

Outside the athletes' village, I met up with Jernec Godec, Damir Dugonjic and Hannah Wilson to talk about their experiences in Beijing.
