BEIJING, China - Jigar Mehta, a University of California alumnus, is in Beijing capturing a behind-the-scenes look at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In today's video feature, he gives fans an inside look at the Olympic village.

Olympic Village
It's probably the most talked about place at the Olympic Games, and you can't scalp a ticket to get in. It's for Olympians only.

The Olympic village is truly a mini village with housing for 16,000 people, a massive dining hall, and lots of entertainment options for the athletes. However, the best part of the village is the opportunity to meet athletes from around the world. If you're clever, you could make enough friends that you would never have to pay for another hotel room when you travel.

Everyone wants to know what it is like on the inside, and since I couldn't get into the village, I gave Cal's Martin Maric (Discus-Crotia) and Amin Nikfar (Shot Put-Iran) a video camera for a day.
