MAR DEL PLATA, ARGENTINA - California freshman water polo player Spencer Warden, a 6-3, 185-pound attacker from Soquel, Calif., has been outstanding as a member the United States Junior National Team that is competing at the Junior World Championships, played at the Pan-American Stadium in Mar Del Plata, Argentina.

On Oct. 6, Warden helped the United States to a 9-9 tie with Greece, scoring two goals in the match as the Americans came back from a 3-0 deficit in the opening period. On Friday, Oct. 7, Warden added another goal in tournament play as Team USA upended Mexico, 12-6.

Warden is a member of a United States team that includes players born between 1987 and 1989 and was chosen from a training squad of 24 earlier this month. Team USA will next face Slovakia on Sunday, Oct. 9, followed by a match against New Zealand on Monday, Oct. 10.
