Berkeley, Calif. - 16 of the top men's water polo teams in the nation concluded play Sunday at the 2002 NorCal Tournament, hosted by the University of California at Spieker Aquatics Complex in Berkeley and Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill. No. 7 UCLA swept through the two days of competition to win the tournament title, 6-3, in an upset over Southern California rival No. 2 USC. In the third place match, Stanford came out on top 9-6 over UC Irvine while California defeated Pepperdine 8-6 in the fifth-place match to round out the top five.
