BERKELEY, CALIF. - Everist interview with NCAA.com

California men's water polo coach Kirk Everist, who led the Golden Bears to back-to-back NCAA titles in 2006 and 2007, was interviewed by Trevor Freeman of NCAA.com about Cal's prospects for the 2009 season.

Everist's Bears are currently 7-2 on the year after placing fourth last weekend at the talent-laden NorCal Invitational at Stanford. Cal next travels to Pacific for a non-conference match against the Tigers on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 12 p.m. in Stockton.

The Bears' next home match is Saturday, Oct. 3 at 12 p.m. against defending 2008 NCAA champion USC. Cal had upended the Trojans in both the 2006 and 2007 NCAA title matches.
