WOODLAND, CALIF. - The University of California men's water polo team had six players recognized by The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation as members of the 2005 All-Academic Team.

Junior captain Brian Bacharach, sophomore Adam Haley, sophomore Zac Monsees, sophomore Michael Sharf, sophomore Jeff Tyrrell and junior Andrija Vasiljevic were all noted by the MPSF for their academic achievements. To be eligible for MPSF All-Academic, an athlete must have a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA, must be at least a sophomore academically, and must have competed in fifty percent or more of a team's matches.

The Golden Bears finished the 2005 campaign 21-7 overall, placed third in the MPSF Tournament, and had a No. 3 final national ranking. Besides their MPSF All-Academic recognition, Sharf was selected as a third-team All-American and Vasiljevic was a second-team All-MPSF pick.
