ANNAPOLIS, MD -
The No. 1-ranked California men's water polo team upended No. 12-ranked St. Francis, 10-6, Sunday morning to go 3-0 at the 2008 Navy Open in Annapolis, Md. The Golden Bears were again led by senior attacker Frank Reynolds, who topped Cal with three goals. Defensively, sophomore goalie Jacob McIntosh continued his outstanding play during the tournament, finishing with a career-high 15 saves, while junior All-American Spencer Warden had a team-high four steals. The Bears will next host Johns Hopkins at 2:30 p.m. eastern time on Sunday, Sept. 7 to conclude tournament play."This was another solid defensive effort for us," said Cal coach Kirk Everist. "St. Francis has some outstanding offensive weapons and to hold them to four goals over the first 30 minutes is very positive. We struggled with our perimeter shooting, but our defense allowed us to control the game."
