HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: Smith will join his brother, Jeff, a redshirt freshman, as a member the 2003 Cal squad. Smith joins the Bears after a stellar career at Sir Francis Drake High School, garnering second team All-America and CIF North Coast Section Player of the Year honors in 2002-03. He also comes to Cal with an impressive swimming resume, winning both the 100 breaststroke (56.8) and 200 IM (1:51.2), at the 2003 North Coast Section championships.
