BERKELEY - California junior Ben McLachlan competes in the ITA Men's All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., starting on Thursday, Oct. 4, while several Golden Bears make the trek to UC Davis for the Aggie Invitational from Friday, Oct. 5, through Sunday, Oct. 7. McLachlan - ranked 16th in singles by the ITA - will play in the ITA tournament's main draw - that ends on Sunday - at the University of Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center. He is the lone Bear playing in Tulsa. In last year's tournament, McLachlan reached the singles round of 32 along with former teammates Nick Andrews and Carlos Cueto. In doubles, he and current senior Christoffer Konigsfeldt won the back-draw doubles final.

Not including the playoff rounds of the shootout, Cal produced a 10-1 singles record at Meadowood. Cal's 124th-ranked Christoffer Konigsfeldt, senior Riki McLachlan and freshman Mads Engsted reached the PlayBrave Shootout Quarterfinals with singles wins. Konigsfeldt beat USTA Junior Gage Brymer, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, to win Group 3; McLachlan won in a walkover against the injured Casey McMaster of Harvard to take Group 8; and Engsted defeated Georgia's Eric Diaz, 6-2, 6-1, to capture Group 6. Each group winner reached the quarterfinals. Ben McLachlan - who was the runner-up in the 2011 competition at Meadowood - fell to eventual 2012 runner-up Soren Hess-Olesen of Texas, 6-4, 6-3, to allow the Longhorn to advance with the Group 1 title. In the quarters, Riki McLachlan dropped his match to Hess-Olesen, 10-4; Engsted lost to Georgia's Ben Wagland, 10-4; and Konigsfeldt fell to Joseph DiGiulio (USTSA), 10-7.
