BERKELEY - Seniors John Pettit and Daniel Sebescen from the California men's tennis team made the Pac-10 All-Academic second team as announced today by Commissioner Tom Hansen. This year marks the third year in a row both these Golden Bears earned all-academic honors.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA and be either a starter or significant contributor.

Pettit, a business administration major, graduated this spring with a GPA of 3.44. He was a first-team all-academic selection last year. Sebescen, who will be graduating next fall, is a political economies of industrial societies major and posted a 3.39 GPA. He made the all-academic first team in 2005.

Cal ended the 2006-07 season with a record of 14-10. The Bears defeated Stanford twice this spring, including a sweep in Berkeley, and reached the NCAA Tournament for the eighth consecutive year.
