STANFORD, Calif. - Senior Conor Niland advanced to the second round of the NCAA singles Championships with his win over Notre Dame's Stephen Bass on Wednesday morning in Stanford, Calif. The sixth-seeded Niland defeated Bass in the round of 64 in two sets, 6-1, 6-3. Niland will face Rylan Rizza of Virginia in Thursday's second round match. Rizza defeated Louisville's Slavko Radman, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. The time of Niland's second round match will be made available tonight after the completion of all matches on Stanford's website (www.gostanford.com). Niland and junior Tyler Browne will team together in the first round of doubles also on Thursday. All of the matches are being held at the Taube Tennis Center on the Stanford campus.
