April 20, 1997 Cal Drops Tennis Match to UCLABERKELEY, Calif. - The Cal men's tennis team dropped a Pac-10 southern division match, 5-2, to the UCLA Bruins Suncay, April 20 at Hellman Tennis Center. The Bruins got off on a spirited note by sweeping the doubles competition and taking a 1-0 advantage into singles play. The Bears did come away with two singles wins on the day. Nathan Jackmon defeated Kevin Kim, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3, while Brian Fernando emerged victorious over Jason Thompson at No. 6 singles. This week, Cal travels to Ojai for the Pac-10 individual championships. UCLA 5, California 2
