Wildcat Diving Invitational Results
TUCSON, ARIZ. - The 2012-13 California men's diving team, highlighted by freshman Collin Pollard qualifying for the finals in both the one-meter and three-meter board, concluded the Nov. 16-18 Arizona Diving Invitational with some solid performances.Pollard, who hails from San Jose and whose brother, Justin, lettered as a Golden Bear swimmer in 2007 and 2008, placed fourth in the finals of the one-meter board after scoring 318.15 in the prelims and recording a mark of 315.00 in the finals. He finished sixth in the three-meter competition with a tallying of 351.25 in the prelims and a score of 354.10 in the finals. Pollard was fifth in the platform as well, recording a mark of 305.50. Pollard has already established himself as one of Cal's top divers, winning the one-meter competition in the Bears' Nov. 3 dual meet victory over Wisconsin at Spieker Aquatics Complex with a score of 343.73. Other results for Todd Mulzet's divers included junior Tyler Pullen finishing third in the consolation round of the one-meter board (285.35) and sophomore Thomas Selby placing fifth in the one-meter consolation (276.35). In the consolation rounds of the three-meter competition; freshman Peter Cyr was third (298.65), Selby was sixth (281.85) and junior Grayson Huston was seventh (264.70). Pullen was Cal's top performers on the platform, placing fourth with a score of 315.35. Huston finished eighth in the platform (238.45), Selby was 10th (227.40) and Cyr was 11th (207.85). Last season, Pullen was the Bears' top finished at the Pac-12 Diving Championships, finishing fifth on the one-meter board, eighth on the three-meter board and ninth on the platform. The Cal divers next compete at the Georgia Invitational, Nov. 30-Dec. 2 in Athens, Ga.
