November 3, 2008 BERKELEY - Sophomore and 2008 U.S. Olympic gold medalist Nathan Adrian won three races to help the seventh-ranked Golden Bears defeat Pac-10 opponent Washington, 143-119, in their home opening-dual meet on Oct. 30 at Spieker Aquatics Complex in Berkeley, making the sophomore sprinter free/fly the Muscle Milk California Student-Athlete of the Week. Adrian won the 200-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 1:38.42, swam the third leg of Cal's winning 400-yard medley relay, which posted a time of 3:17.15, and anchored Cal's winning 200-yard freestyle relay, which met the NCAA B qualifying standard with a time of 1:20.10. In the 400-medley relay, Adrian had a split of 48.30. He had a split of 19.16 in the 200-free relay. Muscle Milk California Student-Athletes of the Week
