OMAHA, Neb. - California alumnus Nathan Adrian and current Golden Bear Trevor Hoyt clinched spots in Friday finals with swims in Thursday night semifinals at the U.S. Olympic Trials at the CenturyLink Center. Adrian - the 2008 U.S. Olympic gold medalist - swam the fastest time (48.33) in the 100-meter freestyle semifinals, while Hoyt - a senior next season - had the sixth-best time (2:11.35) in the 200-meter breaststroke semi.

Cal alumnus Anthony Ervin - a multiple medal winner in the 2000 Olympics - missed out on the 100-free final by placing 13th (49.46) in the semi. Alum Sean Mahoney likewise finished 13th (2:13.28) in the 200-breaststroke semi and will miss that event's final.

The Olympic Trials continue on Friday morning with preliminary heats in the following events: the women's 100 free, men's 200 backstroke, women's 200 breaststroke and men's 200 IM.
