BERKELEY -At the 2009 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships last week, Nathan Adrian captured the national title in the 50 free in an American record time of 18.71, and the 100 free in an American record time of 41.80, making the sophomore the Muscle Milk California Student-Athlete of the Week. Adrian became the first Cal swimmer since Anthony Ervin in 2000 to win both the 50 and 100 free national titles. He also swam the freestyle leg of the Bears' 200 and 400 medley relays which were both national runners-up, and swam the lead-off leg of Cal's 200 and 400 free relays that both finished third at the 2009 NCAA meet.
