FRESHMAN IN 2003-04: Earned All-America honors in the 400 freestyle relay and honorable mention All-America honors in the 50 and 100 freestyles...placed 12th in the 50 free (22.13) and ninth in the 100 free (winning the consolation final in 48.26) at the 2004 NCAA Championships...swam the first leg of Cal's Pac-10-winning 400 freestyle relay (2:52.75)...took eighth in the 50 free (19.81) and third (43.69) in the 100 free at Pac-10s...swam Cal's second-fastest time of the season (42.85) in the 100-yard free at Pac-10 prelims...competed for Lithuania at the 2004 Athens Olympics, where he placed 14th in the 100 freestyle (49.75), took 21st place in the 50 free (22.59) and swam lead-off on Lithuania's 4x100 free relay (sixth in its heat in 3:19.28)...at the 2004 World Championships, was fifth in the 100 freestyle in a time of 48.62.
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE: Competed for Lithuania at the 2003 World Championships in Barcelona, Spain...at the championships, he ranked 19th overall in the 200-meter free (50.12)...finished second in his heat of the 100m free (58.12) and finished third in his heat of the 50m free (23.02)...was a Lithuanian national champion in the 50 and 100 free from 1998-2002...was a Lithuanian Olympic team member in 2000.
