JUNIOR IN 2003-04: All-American took second in the 100 freestyle (46.64) and third in the 100 butterfly (51.56) at the 2004 NCAA Championships...a part of six titles at the 2004 Pac-10 Championships: won the 50 free (19.17) in the third-fastest time in Cal history, won the 100 free (41.96) also in Cal's third-fastest time, led off the 200 free relay (1:17.23) and anchored the 400 free (2:52.75), 200 medley (school- and Pac-10 record 1:25.16), 400 medley (school-record 3:07.31) relays...over the summer, won a silver medal in the 50m free (21.94), finished sixth in the 100m free (49.23) and placed seventh in the 100m fly (52.46) at the 2004 Athens Olympics...in October 2004, won the bronze in the 50m fly (23.26) at the 2004 Short Course World Championships in Indianapolis, IN.
SOPHOMORE IN 2002-03: Won two NCAA titles at the 2003 NCAA Championships, capturing the 100 free (42.02) and leading off Cal's NCAA, U.S. Open and school record-breaking 400 free relay (2:48.99)...edged out three-time NCAA Champion and American record holder teammate Anthony Ervin in the 100 free final...finished third in the 100 fly (46.40) at the national championships and helped the Bears' 200 free relay (second-leg) to a third-place finish (3:51.48) as well...swimming the second-leg, he helped the Bears to first-place finishes in the 200 (1:17.92) and 400 free relays (2:51.43) at the Pac-10 Championships...also notched runner-up finishes in the 100 free (42.62) and 100 fly (46.44) and placed fourth in the 50 free (19.84) at the conference meet...continues to climb Cal's all-time Top 10 ladder, ranking second in the 100 fly (46.40), third in the 100 free (42.02) and seventh in the 50 free (19.80)earned the Cal's Coaches Award.
FRESHMAN IN 2001-20: Returning All-American...named Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year...swam the lead-off leg on the Bears' national title winning 400 free relay (2:50.01) and notched a national runner-up finish in the 100 free (42.22) at the NCAA Championships...was the anchor leg of Cal's 200 free relay team (1:16.89) that placed second at the NCAAs...won the 100 free (42.82) and helped the Bears' 400 free relay (second leg) capture the 2002 Pac-10 title...helped the Bears' 200 free relay (lead-off leg) and 200 medley relay (butterfly leg) to runner-up finishes at the league championships...is ranked in several events on Cal's all-time Top 10 list, including the third-best time in the 100 free (42.22), fourth-best time in the 100 fly (47.41) and sixth-best time in the 50 free (19.81)...member of the school record setting 200 medley (butterfly leg) and 200 free relay (anchor leg) teams.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2001 graduate of Vladimir Nazor School...team captain of the Croatian Junior National team...won seven gold medals at the European Junior Championships...holds two Junior World records and four European Junior records...broke numerous Croatian national records...swam bests of 22.69 in the 50m free and 49.67 in the 100m free.
