BERKELEY - California players Tony Salciccia and Ryan Neil earned berths on the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) All-Far West Region Teams, the NSCAA announced this week.

A senior midfielder and co-captain, Salciccia joined Neil, a junior defender, on the NSCAA All-Fast West Third Team after leading the Golden Bears to an 8-7-3 overall record (3-5-2 in the Pac-12) in 2012.

A San Francisco Bay Area product from San Jose, Calif., Salciccia claimed All-Pac-12 First-Team selection after he led the Bears in points (16), tied for first in goals (5) and ranked second in assists (6) in 2012; he set career highs in each of those categories. Salciccia, who started all 18 matches, also ranked second in game-winning goals (2) and converted all three of Cal's penalty kicks in 2012, his final season in Berkeley. Majoring in social welfare, Salciccia also claimed a spot on the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team.

Neil, who hails from Mission Viejo, Calif., garnered a spot on the All-Pac-12 Second Team. A converted midfielder, Neil collected a career-high five assists playing at right back and started 14 of the 17 games he played in this season.
