BERKELEY - California senior defender A.J. Soares and junior goalkeeper David Bingham claimed berths on the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week, the soccer website announced on Tuesday, for their parts in the Golden Bears' 2-0 win over Brown on Nov. 28 in the NCAA Tournament's third round on Goldman Field.

Soares, one of three Cal co-captains, marshaled a backline that produced Cal's and Bingham's eighth shutout of the season. A Solana Beach, Calif., native, Soares also garnered a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Season second team. The reigning Pac-10 Player of the Year, Soares has excelled in the attack as well as on defense in his final season as a collegian, posting career highs in goals (5) and points (11) in 2010.

Bingham, who also earned a spot on the College Soccer News Team of the Week this week for his play against the Bears, made nine saves against Brown. A San Francisco Bay Area native from Pleasanton, Calif., Bingham has compiled a 0.67 goals-against average, .897 save percentage and 14-2-3 record after playing every minute in goal for Cal this year.

Sixth-ranked and No. 6 seed Cal (14-2-3 record) plays in the NCAA Tournament's quarterfinal round at second-ranked and No. 3 seed Akron (20-1-1) at 1 p.m. PT on Saturday, Dec. 4, in Akron, Ohio.
