BERKELEY - California placed three Golden Bears on the Pac-12 All-Academic Teams, with Tony Salciccia, Steve Birnbaum and Kyle Marsh earning conference honors, Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott announced Monday. Salciccia, a junior co-captain, claimed second-team kudos with his 3.49 grade-point average in social welfare. A midfielder, Salciccia started all 17 games for the Bears in the recently completed 2011 season and posted two goals, one assist and five points. Birnbaum, also a junior co-captain, and sophomore midfielder Kyle Marsh earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention. A defender, Birnbaum started 16 games and scored his second career goal, while Marsh started 11 of the 17 games he played and scored two goals this season.
