Bears Lose to No. 8 Washington

SEATTLE, Wa.--The Washington Huskies handed the Golden Bears their third loss on the season in a 4-0 defeat Sunday on Husky Soccer Field. Washinton improved its record to 9-2-2, 2-1 in the MPSF, while the Bears fell to 7-3-1, 2-1.

Senior midfielder Ian Russell sparked Washington with two goals and an assist, beginning the scoring just 8:01 into the game. Two other Husky players junior midfielder Chris Wolff and senior midfielder Joe Franchino - notched goals in the win. Franchino also had an assist.

Washington outshot Cal 14-9. Bear goalkeeper Doug Brooks only had one save in the contest. The Huskies held Cal scoreless for the first time this season..
