BERKELEY - Coming off their freshmen seasons with the Golden Bears, California scrumhalf Nicklas Boyer and center Eakalafi Okusi are now with the U.S. U-20 National Team, which competes for the Junior World Rugby Trophy June 18-30 in Salt Lake City.

The U.S. U-20s are in Pool A at the JWRT, where they face Tonga on June 18, Chile on June 22 and Russia on June 26. Canada, Georgia, Japan and Zimbabwe comprise Pool B. The pool winners meet in the championship on June 30.

Boyer has played two matches already this summer with the U.S. U-20s,sweeping Canada U-20. Okusi wrapped up his collegiate season at the CRC 7s, where he turned 19 on June 2 in a match against Notre Dame on national television.

"Both of these boys have significant upside and will undoubtedly be great Cal players," said head coach Jack Clark. "They are part of a very strong freshman class and now as rising sophomores will be joined by a equally strong freshman class."
