LAS VEGAS - The Golden Bears defeated Wyoming, 107-5, Friday at the Las Vegas Invitational outside of Sam Boyd Stadium.

The Bears (13-0) had last seen the Cowboys at the 2009 San Diego Invitational, where Wyoming scored five tries and 37 points against Cal. Today, Wyoming lock Leo Ferguson scored the Cowboys' lone try, with the conversion missed by scrumhalf Garret Kendal.

As Cal prevented further scoring from Wyoming, it added 17 tries of its own on the Cowboys.

"We wanted to show hard work and determination on the field," said starting fullback Anthony Lombardo.

No. 8 Danny Barrett called today the latest stop in a season-long process. "We're going to keep going after it," he said.

In earlier action, the Bears began the day with a 99-5 victory over Utah State with a mixed frosh-side side showcasing the reserves.

Saturday's opponent for the Bears is Air Force, which defeated Cal, 46-28, at their last meeting in the 2003 national semifinals. The Zoomies went on to become 2003 national champions by beating Harvard in the final. In the seven seasons since then, the Bears have lost only two other matches against domestic competition (Cal Poly 2004, BYU 2009).
