February 9, 2009 BERKELEY - Kyle Bunthuwong was named to the U.S. Senior National team after his performances at the Winter Cup Challenge, making the sophomore all-around the Muscle Milk California Student-Athlete of the Week. The El Cerrito, Calif., native finished sixth in the all-around with 172.100 points earned over the course of two days at the meet, which was held Feb. 5 and Feb. 7 in Las Vegas. His best finish came on parallel bars, where he was fifth (29.250). He was 11th on floor with a 29.100 and 13th on vault with a 30.900. In the preliminaries, Bunthuwong finished first amongst the Bears in the all-around in fifth place with 85.300 points. With a 14.600 on parallel bars, he tied for third.
