Stanford and Nebraska Results Get Acrobat Reader

STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 4 California men's gymnastics team took second at the Stanford Open on Saturday evening at Burnham Pavilion. The Golden Bears finished with 357.900 points behind first-place No. 3 Stanford (361.350) but ahead of Nebraska, which took third with 333.850. Cal now stands 2-1 after its first two meets of the 2008 campaign.

The Bears excelled on pommel horse, where they took their first event of the night with 58.200 points. Junior Kyson Bunthuwong won pommel hose with a 14.800 with seniors Tim McNeill and Colin Christ taking second and third, respectively.

Senior Tyler Block helped Cal to a win on still rings, notching a meet-high 15.750. The Bears edged the Cardinal by .150 to take the event.

Three-time NCAA Champion senior Tim McNeill led the Bears to a win on parallel bars with his first-place performance, scoring a 15.750 on the event. Christ took third place (15.450) and Block finished in fourth (15.250).

California will travel to Las Vegas on Feb. 9 to participate in the Winter Cup Classic.
