2011: A regular in the lineup for the Bears on the pommel horse and high bar...set new career highs in each of the first two meet of the season with scores of 14.350 and 14.400 on high bar against Stanford both times...recorded a 15.200 the only time he competed on vault at the Stanford Open...had a season-best 14.250 on pommel horse in the meet against Iowa.

2010: Competed in nine meets on the pommel horse as well as on the high bar in his first five meets...had a season-high 14.250 on the pommel horse in the Pacific Coast Classic...finished fourth on pommel horse in the season opener against Stanford with a 14.200...notched a season-high 13.900 on high bar at the Stanford Open.

2009: Competed in nine meets as a true freshman for the Bears...earned a 14.550 on pommel horse in the NCAA Championships for a new season and career high...scored a 14.400 in his sole outing on high bar at the Gold Country Classic.

Personal: Was the North Carolina state pommel horse champion as a junior and as a senior at East Forsyth High School...thrice qualified for Junior Nationals...also played ice hockey and won the division title as a freshman...undeclared major...parents are Lise Bisson and Greg Blair.

CalBears.com: Why did you choose Cal?
NB: "I wanted a change from North Carolina. It's quite exhilarating knowing home is over 3,000 miles away as well as attending the number one public school in the nation. I also had to continue training. I honestly do not know what I would do without gymnastics."

CalBears.com: What has been the hardest, most surprising aspect about transitioning from high school to college?
NB: "The hardest thing came to me after my first midterm: being at the top of the class back home means nothing academically here at Berkeley; I must try even harder just to break the average standard."

CalBears.com: What is your favorite part about gymnastics and/or how did you get started in gymnastics?
NB: "My favorite part about gymnastics is learning so much from my enthusiastic teammates. I love being part of a family and progressing everyday. I got started in gymnastics in 1996 after the Atlanta Olympics. Ever since then, it's been 20-25 hours a week in the gym."
