CAL CONTINUES 2012-13 SEASON AT PING/GOLF WEEK PREVIEW
Cal (No. 2 Golfweek/No. 3 Golf World Nike) continues its 2012-13 season at the PING/Golfweek Preview this Sunday-Tuesday, September 23-25. The event hosted by Georgia Tech will serve as a preview to the 2013 NCAA Championship, which will also be hosted by the Yellow Jackets at the par-70, 7,246-yard Capital City Club Crabapple Course. The elite 15-team field includes 14 teams ranked in Gofweek's pre-season top 25, including defending national champion and No. 1 Alabama, who ended the Golden Bears' magical 2011-12 campaign by defeating Cal in the NCAA semifinals. The teams will play 18 holes of the 54-hole stroke play event each day. The first tee time scheduled Sunday and Monday at 9 a.m. EDT/6 a.m. PDT, while Tuesday's final day of action is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. EDT/5 a.m. PDT. PING/GOLFWEEK PREVIEW WEATHER FORECAST
The forecast in the Alpharetta area during the PING/Golfweek Preview calls for pleasant weather that is predicted to get warmer each day. Sunday's forecast high of 74 will be followed by projected highs of 76 and 79 on Monday and Tuesday. Sunny skies with no chance of precipitation are predicted all three days with winds no higher than 9 mph from the North and Northwest on Sunday decreasing to 6 mph from the northeast Monday and 3 mph from the Southeast by Tuesday. The humidity is slated to be 47% on Sunday, and 52% both Monday and Tuesday.
