PEBBLE BEACH - Ben An, who has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Cal men's golf team in 2010-11, missed the cut after the conclusion of the first two rounds of the 2010 U.S. Open Championship at the Pebble Beach Golf Links on Friday.

An shot a seven-over par 79 during Thursday's opening round and got off to another rough start on Friday. Starting on the 10th hole, he immediately went to four-over par for the day and 12-over for the tournament after his first three holes. An bogeyed the par-four 10th, double-bogeyed the par-four 11th and bogeyed the par-four 12th. But his game steadied from then out with 15 consecutive pars to finish with a 12-over par 36-hole total of 154 and a four-over par 75 for the day. He was five shots off the cut of the 83 golfers who advanced to the final two rounds Saturday and Sunday by shooting seven-over par or better over the first 36 holes.
