PALM HARBOR, Fla. - Michael Kim remained at No. 1 in the latest Palmer Cup Ranking related Wednesday. Kim is the No. 1 ranked player for the United States, while Joël Stalter (France) is No. 3 on the European side. Michael Weaver (No. 8), Brandon Hagy (No. 16) and Max Homa (No. 25) are also listed for the United States. The Palmer Cup Ranking, which is in its first season of existence, will be updated on two more occasions April 3 and April 17. The top six players in the April 17 ranking from both the United States and Europe will be automatically selected for the 2013 Palmer Cup, which will be held June 7-9 at Wilmington Country Club in Wilmington, Del. The balance of both teams will be named the following week. Using Golfstat's NCAA Player Ranking as a base, the Palmer Cup Ranking awards bonus points for wins and high finishes and a negative bonus for poor finishes. The ranking also contains a strength of schedule component. Kim checks in with a 1.000 percentage, while Stalter is at .9801, Weaver at .9853, Hagy at .9714 and Homa at .9592. The Palmer Cup pits teams of 10 collegiate players from the United States and Europe against each other in a match-play format. The Bears have won eight of nine tournaments in 2012-13, 14 of their last 23 overall dating back to the beginning of the 2011-12 campaign and finished in the top five in all 23.
