BERKELEY - Michael Kim has retained his spot at No. 1 on the latest Haskins Award Watch List released Friday, while teammate Joël Stalter has moved up 12 spots to No. 3 on the same day he was named the Pac-12 Men's Golfer of the Month for the first time in his career.

"It's exciting to have Michael at No. 1 and Joël at No. 3," head coach Steve Desimone said. "It's recognition of how well we're playing. It's great but what I'm really hoping is that it will end up something similar to this at the conclusion of the season."

Kim has won twice in 2012-13, taking the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational in his final fall event before sharing the Arizona Intercollegiate with Stalter to open the spring. He has finished in the top 10 in each of his seven tournaments in 2012-13 and posted a 70.3 stroke average that is second on the team behind Stalter's 69.9.

Stalter opened his 2013 spring season by picking up individual medalist honors in each of his first two events at the Arizona Intercollegiate and John A. Burns Intercollegiate for his first two collegiate wins. Stalter shared his victory at the Arizona Intercollegiate with teammate Kim and then defeated teammate Max Homa by eight strokes at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate. After playing those two events in a combined 21-under par, he has lowered his stroke average for the season to a team-best 69.93 that is fifth nationally.

Stalter is ranked No. 1 in the nation by Golfstat and No. 2 according to Golfweek, while Kim checks in at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

Cal next returns to action March 4-5 at the Fresno State Lexus Classic to be played at the Belmont Country Club in Fresno. Cal will also play March 8-10 at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters at the Southern Highlands Golf Club in Las Vegas before being out of action for nearly four weeks during spring break. The Bears have won 12 of their last 21 tournaments overall dating back to the beginning of the 2011-12 campaign and finished in the top five in all 21.
