Fax machine just buzzed a little while ago. That would be linebacker Michael Barton's signed NLI coming through. Welcome to the Cal family.


8:28 a.m.

Latest NLIs to come off the fax machine... defensive back Damariay Drew at 7:51 and wide receiver Cedric Dozier at 7:53.


8:02 a.m.

We have two new members of the 2012 recruiting class. Join me in welcoming wide receiver Chris Harper and offensive lineman Steven Moore. Harper's signed NLI came through at 7:14 and Moore's came off the fax machine at 7:25.


7:08 a.m.

The fax machine is working overtime now and it is only 7:08 in the morning. The latest signed NLIs to come through and be approved by our compliance office are OL Matt Cochran and FB Maximo Espitia.


7:03 a.m.

As we pass the 7 o'clock hour, we receive our fourth signed NLI of the day. This one comes from Lakewood, Calif. wide receiver Darius Powe. Welcome to the Cal family Darius.


6:19 a.m.

We just received our third signed NLI of the day. This one comes from Oakland, Calif. as LB Hardy Nickerson Jr., becomes the latest signee with the Bears. Check out the video on the right.


6:05 a.m.

We had our first signed National Letters of Intent come off the fax machine at 4:14 a.m. this morning. Punter Cole Leininger from Fruit Cove, Fla. is officially a Cal Bear! Shortly after at 5:00 a.m. exactly offensive lineman Freddie Tagaloa of Richmond, Calif. sent his signed NLI over. Tagaloa is playing in the International Bowl high school all-star game in Austin, Texas tonight and made sure to get his NLI in early this morning. Welcome Freddie

Once our compliance director Chris Stivers arrives we'll start letting you know who's National Letters-of-Intent are coming through the fax machine or via email.

Fans will have the opportunity to follow the excitement of 2012 National Signing Day by visiting CalBears.com/Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 1. Comprehensive coverage of the day's events is scheduled to begin at 5:00 a.m. PT.

A video of the National Signing Day Press Conference featuring Cal head coach Jeff Tedford discussing members of the team's 2012 signing class that have signed National Letters of Intent and had them approved by the school's administration will be posted shortly after the conclusion of the event that begins at 4:00 p.m. PT.

CalBears.com will be on site in the football offices at the Simpson Center for Student-Athlete High Performance throughout the day to update the Golden Bears' list of 2012 signees as National Letters of Intent arrive and are approved by the school's administration. Cal football will return to a renovated Memorial Stadium in 2012, opening its season at home against Nevada on Saturday, Sept. 1. The Bears' seven-game home slate will also feature Pac-12 contests against Arizona State, Oregon, Stanford, Washington and UCLA, as well as a non-conference tilt against Southern Utah. The Bears have road trips to Ohio State, Oregon State, USC, Utah and Washington State.
