BERKELEY - Home games against USC and Utah plus a pair of nationally televised Thursday night games highlight California's 2011 football conference schedule in a newly aligned Pac-12, the league office announced Friday.
The Golden Bears will play in the North Division of the Pac-12, which will add Colorado and Utah to its membership on July 1, 2011. Cal's slate includes matchups with fellow North Division members Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, Washington and Washington State, as well as South Division schools Arizona State, UCLA, USC and Utah.
The Bears will play their first two Pac-12 games on the road - at Washington on Saturday, Sept. 24 and at Oregon on Thursday, Oct. 6. The game against the Ducks will be televised live nationally by ESPN.
The team will then make its conference home debut against USC in another ESPN-nationally televised contest on Thursday, Oct. 13 at San Francisco's AT&T Park, where the Bears are scheduled to play their 2011 home games. Cal will also host Utah at the venue on Saturday, Oct. 22. The Golden Bears return to a renovated Memorial Stadium in 2012.
Cal will take on UCLA at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, Oct. 29, before closing out their home schedule against Washington State (Saturday, Nov. 5) and Oregon State (Saturday, Nov. 12).
Cal's final two games of the 2011 regular season are the 114th Big Game at Stanford (Saturday, Nov. 19) and at Arizona State (Saturday, Nov. 26).
The Bears' non-conference contests will be played on the first three Saturdays of September (3, 10, 17) and will be announced at a later date. Future television choices will also be published once those selections have been made. Season-ticket information will be announced within the next couple of weeks.
