Oregon State, Stanford Games on ABC Regional TV

Nov. 3, 2008

BERKELEY - Both the Nov. 15 Cal-Oregon State and Nov. 22 Cal-Stanford games will kick off at 12:30 p.m. and be televised regionally by ABC. With the announcement, it means that every Golden Bear football game will be shown on live TV for the second year in a row.

The Bears will appear on ABC seven times, including five consecutive weeks from Oct. 25 (UCLA) through Nov. 22 (Stanford). Cal was also on ESPN for the game at Maryland and on Comcast SportsNet-California for the Washington State, Colorado State and Arizona contests. The last remaining game to be selected is the Dec. 6 date vs. Washington. It will air on either FSN at 12 noon or ESPN or ESPN2 at 5 p.m., and the decision will be announced approximately 12 days in advance of the game.

Because the Nov. 22 Big Game was not picked up for a national broadcast, Cal received a special exemption to allow ABC to show the game over the air in the San Francisco, Sacramento, Fresno and Monterey markets in Northern California. Fans can also access the game nationwide through ESPN GamePlan. Visit the ESPN GamePlan website to learn how to get GamePlan in your area.

The coverage maps for this week's contest at USC (ABC TV, 5 p.m.) and the Nov. 15 game at Oregon State have not been determined yet.

Tickets are available for all remaining Golden Bear home games by visiting the Tickets link at CalBears.com or by calling (800) GO BEARS.
